Manon has been sketching and designing since the sixth grade. She has attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Manon will be studying abroad this Fall but took time to design for the challenge. Says Manon, “I love the idea of creating a new article of clothing out of a preexisting one. I also find interesting the possibility of combining the sari, which is such a uniquely Indian garment, with a completely different design.” Manon was inspired by the White Rainbow Project. “It is so important to support women everywhere, and when I learned about the White Rainbow Project and how it supports widows, encourages independence, and embraces love, I was moved,” she added.
